Strengthening Unity: People’s Goal Brings Together CDM Personnel and Their Families

Building a stronger movement starts with stronger connections. On 3 July 2026, People’s Goal brought together Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) soldiers, police officers, and their families living along the Thai–Myanmar border for a social gathering designed to foster trust, solidarity, and mutual support.

The gathering created a safe space where participants openly discussed the realities of life in exile—from economic hardship and family concerns to the everyday challenges of remaining committed to the democratic movement. Beyond sharing updates on People’s Goal's ongoing initiatives, the event focused on listening. Participants offered candid feedback and practical recommendations that will directly shape future assistance programmes.

A total of 32 participants, including 26 CDM soldiers, police officers, family members, and six People’s Goal staff, joined the event.

At People’s Goal, meaningful support begins by listening to those on the frontlines. Every conversation strengthens our understanding of their needs and helps us design programmes that are more responsive, relevant, and impactful. Together, we continue building a resilient community committed to a democratic future for Myanmar.
