Return from Death: The Revolutionary Journey and Upstream Life Story of CDM Captain Thet Paing Oo

A powerful new episode of Brave Story by People’s Goal features the remarkable journey of CDM Engineer Captain Thet Paing Oo – a former Military Engineering Academy officer who broke ranks to stand with the people.

After joining the Civil Disobedience Movement, he continued his fight on the front lines as a PDF sniper. During combat at one frontline position, he was struck by a bullet that shattered his upper jaw, a near-fatal injury that left him with permanent damage.

But Captain Thet Paing Oo, known as Ko Thet Pyin Lay, survived after multiple surgeries. Today, though no longer able to return immediately to active combat, he continues to serve the revolution from a kitchen inside the country, supporting frontline forces with unwavering dedication.

Despite the life-altering wound, he smiles and says, “This injury is minor.”
What fuels such strength? What convictions drive him? How does he view the revolution, and what message does he have for his comrades still fighting?

Watch his full story in the Brave Story program by People’s Goal.
