Strengthening Battlefield Ethics Through IHL Training in Zokhawthar

As Myanmar's conflict continues, strengthening respect for humanitarian principles remains a critical priority. On 23–24 July 2026, People’s Goal conducted another two-day Basic International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Training in Zokhawthar, Mizoram, India.

The programme brought together 24 CDM soldiers and police officers, supported by three experienced trainers, to deepen understanding of the laws governing armed conflict and reinforce the responsibility to protect civilians.

Through interactive discussions and practical case studies, participants explored key principles including civilian protection, proportionality, military necessity, and responsible conduct during military operations. The training also encouraged participants to reflect on how adherence to International Humanitarian Law strengthens both operational discipline and public trust.
